This year, each of you will maintain a digital portfolio of your work. This is a place for you to collect pieces of writing you are proud of, analysis of texts that you read and your reflections about the year. They will be a public way of sharing your work and reflections of your work as you go. You will share this page with your classmates, myself, other TYWLS students, your parents/guardians and potentially other people outside of TYWLS.
You will start by creating and designing your page. In addition to a collection of your work, consider adding some flavor! Extras to consider:
Task 1: Create a portfolio. In the past we've used tumblr or weebly, but this year I want you to use whatever you prefer. If you have a portfolio or website already, you can make our class a new tab! Know how to create a wix or wordpress? Go for it! This is your digital portfolio collecting what we've been working on, your reflection, and work samples for me, your parents, and each other. * Warning and reminder: This is for a school audience and should have an overall ELA focus
Task 2: Your first post: In order to introduce yourself, write just a few lines about who you are as a reader and writer. See these tumblrs for examples.

YOU DO NOT have to put a photo if you don't feel comfortable. As for the text, be honest- if you prefer read magazines or online, share that!
Task 3: Put your 6 word memoir on your portfolio
Task 4: Write a few lines reflecting about what your hoping to get out of this year in English. Consider mentioning what your personal goals are for this class, what you're nervous about and/or what you're excited about.
Task 5: Bluest Eye Reflection: Should this book be a required read? Why or why not?
